Because you are not afraid to feel the pain of it and the one you asking is afraid to feel the pain of it. You are right, you won't ever be the same because you have loved deeply and lost deeply... you will go on and be astronger person for it. The one you are asking will remain dead inside out of fear of pain. That is a shame. I too a sorry for the loss for both of you but I know one of you will heal.

My young wife died 30 years ago and I still feel the pain. It becomes part of who you are and that is how it should be. Don't fight the grief, live through it.

My 33 year old son died last year after a two year fight for his life with."CANCER"He was so brave and did everything the Dr's wanted him to do.I miss and think of him every day and will for the rest of my life. I feel your pain.

I'm sure it is the same for him. he probably just grieves different. When really bad things happen alot of people will look like their "living" when actually they are just trying to stay sain. Keep their minds busy. but they will grieve, it may not be in the same way as you but you can't run from your heart. I'm really sorry for your loss.

Like the first response said, everyone is different. For all you know, your wife is really hurting inside. Maybe she is just hiding the grief better than you. Nothing wrong with either of you. Sorry dude.
