Most of us who are adults have a string of relationships behind us- obviously they were not perfect (or we'd still be in them), but we can also remember good things about most of them. Even things we miss. It is perfectly normal for you to feel the way you do. You didn't fall in love with an abuser, you fell in love with someone who seemed like something he wasn't- or who changed. We can know in our mind that the person isn't the same, but the heart isn't so quick to adjust. Hang in there.
