If anyone is a dumbass, it is you by thinking that not 100% loving the military means you were influenced by anyone. The OP could merely have come to his stance on his own. Until you have been in his shoes, and had his thoughts, don't presume to think you know why he feels as he does. It's time to grow up and realize not everyone supports how our military acts.

The Liberal media would not have buried a story about the army murdering more then fifteen innocent people with helicopter gunships. A Government propaganda network would bury it in favor of 24 hour coverage of man whore golfer return from a Gonorrhea induced absence. The army serves a necessary function and anyone with half a brain appreciates the service of responsible soldiers. I'm not a veteran, but I suspect that it's not a place for everyone, and certainly not for anyone without a very thick skin. If it's not a good fit for you, get out and find a place that's better.

Take the best that the Army is teaching you, learn from the mistakes that others make and have a good 'rest of your life'. That is what I did after the USMC. I decided not to make it my life but use the tools it gave me.

You are doing a great job, and I thank you for your service to our country. There will always be ups and downs in one's life. Enjoy the ups so much that they help you get through the worst of the downs. After it's all said and done, you'll still remember the hard times, only you won't remember how bad you felt; and the good times will turn out to have been the best of times. The best thing I ever did was decide to get out of the army. The second best decision was to join in the first place. I took the skills I learned and applied them to the real world, it's great earning 100k a year while wearing jeans and a t-shirt to work everyday.The military is what you make of it. I hated the system and my pride had a hard time with all of the rules, but there were good times too. No where else will you find the same sense of camaraderie to be had in the military.
