You need to start writing him,I know it would mean so much to him. In the 90's during the first gulf war I was in. So sit down and write him a letter. Make sure you write it, don't type it, it's more personal that way. you don't even have to reveal your in love with him yet, but tell him you miss him and all that. Nothing brightens a Marines/Soldiers day like a letter from home. And even better yet if you can afford it a care package. But he'll be happy with a letter.....good luck to you.

Reach out to him, what could it hurt? If nothing becomes of it at least another friendship, and a person can never have too many friends. If something were, then more the better.
