OP here: I struggle with her, she just turned 1yr. I've raised her, she was orphaned, since she was 3.5 weeks old. As tempting, stress-wise, as it is to let her go or find her a home, I cannot do so as guilt sinks in and she's such a sweet dog. I've spent so much time working with her that's gone wasted and will be taking her to a behaviorist in the near future to try and straighten her out. It's terribly frustrating when she's bad but her sweet disposition REALLY evens her out (sometimes)!

If you want to give up your dog, please give it to a shelter. It's a short drive, I'm sure, but much more responsible than "opening a door". I can understand if you and the dog just don't see eye to eye, but please be a responsible adult, not to mention a responsible human being, and do the right thing: give it to a shelter instead of thinking it can fend for itself. Think about it: you give it food (hopefully) at least once a day. How can you expect it to feed itself?
