I met this beautiful woman, but she doesn't know so much about me, like my depression.
My depression does go away when I am with her though.

you should get yourself healthy, you can't rely on her for your happiness and love her the way you should if you are not good with yourself. You dont want to ruin something good. This is a lesson im currently learning, i know its easier said than done.

I have told her I love her, but she doesn't know about my depression. We spent 4 days together, I brought her home last night. But when I got back to my place and walked in, it was very sad and empty. Sometimes I feel she would be better off if I let her go...:(

Depression happens because you think sad thoughts. Train yourself to think nothing but happy thoughts and the depression will be no more. Duh! It doesn't take drugs, it just takes you focusing on the good things and not the bad.

I think you are just lonely. You are fine when with her and a mess when home alone, self explanatory I feel. NOW, when you get a lil down when alone, you will talk yourself into an actual depression if you keep thinking that way. Do like the other person suggested...think good thoughts, or go out and see ppl, talk, etc.

I am depressed as well, I don't think dating is the answer unless you are trying to get to the end of the road faster. I hadn't opened myself to the possiblility in a long time due to being trampled upon (cheated on) too many times. I just did in November, 1st time in over 2 years. By February, he is entertaining women in his apartment, and lying to me of course. It's not really going to help you in the long run. I mean, yeah, the relationship did get me through the holidays, so maybe that's all we can hope for- just enough goodness to keep us from shooting ourselves... although the razor blade has called me a few times. I don't mean to dash your hopes. Just act like everyone else in the world when you do date, be selfish, get what you want, and move on.

Unfortunately, your homosexuality does not go away when you are with her.

^Wow, I am sorry you have had such bad luck in your past relationships. It seems to have put you in a very negative place...contemplating the "razor blade" or any other means of suicide is a definite symptom of a problem. There are good men out there, they are just few and far between. Try and be more positve because "negative" only attracts "negative". Take care of and value yourself, so that when a good one comes along you are in the right frame of mind.

^ I'm guessing the frame of mind I need to be in is use them before they use me. I tell people up front I don't play games, I request that if they ever feel the need to cheat just let me go first so I can find my true love as well, they always agree but never ever adhere to the agreement. There are enough problems in life, why does everyone take the one good thing and make it as bad as they possibly can?

Just remember Op... do not make her your Island. You are the Island and you can invite her to share your island and she can accept or not, but Just dont make the bad choice of making her your island...

Make sure you know her really well before you mention the depression. Sadly, that will make her lock up the cookie jar.

Really, it would only be temporary. If you were to get into a long term relationship with her, you'd eventually wind up worse than you are now because you would feel bad for her as well, which would cause you even more depression. Get well first.
