It's a great Book though...and can be quite helpful to those in despair.

Mankind really doesn't know who wrote or where the bible came from. Its all just guess's and theory. For all we know some quack wrote it. I swear some people are nothing but a a bunch of sheep.

i can relate totally. and the worst part is that they wont let me believe what i want. or more correctly disapprove of being an athiest, and express the fact they believe. why cant you just accept me like i am? i am a good man with solid values, i just dont believe in your dog and pony show. thats all.

Anyone who knows anything about history and Jewish culture understand that the Bible is largely a history book; an account of those people since the beginning of time. In our culture, we don't understand the meaning of history like they did. Male children were litterly raised to memorise it's stories word-Fo-word and pass it along through the generations... They were a very oral culture and those books were like gold to them. I think people get caught up on certain stories, not realizing that a lot of the Bible is made up of literal characters whose stories were many times simple analogies.
