This sucks though, especially when you watch the person they're dating treat them like crap and only you know what could be if they gave you that opportunity.

What if they don't want to be a friend or they decide to find a new friend? and you can't play friends with them anymore.

^8 Don't know what your experience was but I can assure you it was NOT typical. It is very unfair and mean spirited to generalize to all men from your own bad experience, in addition to making assumptions without any evidence whatsoever about the sex of the OP and the other party to whom s/he refers.

Go ahead ruin the friendship. I had a great friend, once upon a time. He decided to let his stupid fantasy be more important than the friendship. At least I know he was never a friend in the first place. That's the hard part to get past. I had a friend for 8 years, but I guess he just wanted to f me. Men are strange creatures. I just feel grossed out, almost molested because he was such a close friend. Go ahead ruin the freindship, you aren't a friend anyway if you want to F them.

Seriously. Get a life of your own. Don't pretend to be this persons friend. You aren't. You have ulterior motives and that's not what a friend does.

no you're not, and you're not fooling anyone either. You want them to love and want you as much as you love and want them. It hurts that they don't feel the same way you do, and when they start dating someone else or get a significant other, you will be crushed having to pretend it doesn't bother you while you lie awake every night wondering what if...truth hurts but i call it like i see it. Friendships never work when one person feels and wants more than the other, it's a fact!

It is simple, just tell them how you feel. From the heart!!! They might just feel the same way. Best of luck!

^2 true, time to move on. no one likes rejection. most people run when they find a new challenge, yeah challenge is better than friendships or any time that had been invested. just forget about this person, you will be better off., ;)
