I often fantasize that if I wasn't married w/ a kid I'd still be racing motocross. Maybe racing the Baja 1000. I wish I had stayed on that path.

Yeah, and your body would be beat all to hell. You should be happy you aren't permanently crippled from riding, jumping, and LANDING.

yeah, cause you were soooooo good it was the marriage and child thing that made you quit...bullshit! there are tons of professional athletes that are married, they just have the drive to keep going. don't blame your lack of willpower on your family, it makes you sound like a douche!

A lot of people give up dangerous sports when they have kids. That doesn't make them a douche. I can sympathize with this guy.

^what made him a douche was that he regrets his choice to give up racing, not that he followed through with it dummy!

If you aren't dead, then neither are your dreams. There is no reason why you can't race and be a husband and father. So figure out if you really want to race, and if so go do it. If not, at least quit blaming it on the wife and child.

I wish that faggot. Jimmie Johnson, would have stayed on that path too.

Most of us move on from the dreams we have, with me it is music. Focus on your family now, and how blessed you are. Your child needs to see a strong man with energy and drive, and goals. The rewards are endless, and much better than trophies and broken bones. You are a hero to your child.

"I wish I had stayed on that path. " - You know what they say. Wish in one hand and piss in the other and see which one gets filled first. Stop wasting your time wishing for somehting that will never happen. Get over it.

Just about all of us do bro. Maybe not Motocross..but we each have our own "motocross" we wish we had stayed with.

and I bet his partner had wished she hadn't married HIM and had stayed on her path of being a successful career woman-now she is strapped with a kid and a husband that blames her for his lack of balls to continue on his path...

so are you at the point that you resent your wife and child for your failure to follow your own dreams yet?? i am sure had you really wanted to pursue them, your wife would've supported you...funny how people blame other people for their own failures.

You would trade the miracle of your CHILD for that? You don't deserve a child.

^Yeah no one deserves to put up with being a parent.

You could be dead, kidneys shook lose, or have a brain injury from it by now too. Maybe that family is pretty great in comparison to having someone else wipe your butt.
