The sooner you get past this the better, don't let it define your life.

Some of you act like I'm saying I hate my mom or can't stand her, no I love my mom than anyone else..it's just I was too confident that for 9 years me and brother had the same dad.I mean it just was a shock, and I just recently found out I have other brothers and sisters from my real dad.

And plus ever since I've found this out and my brother's dad knew that I found out he has treated me completely different.I just feel like I really don't have a father and growing up I didn't so it just hurts.

there is no manual for parents, and unfortunitly they make mistakes all the time, just like you and i do.....she was just trying to protect you, and even though she was wrong try looking at why she did it. ten to one your real dad was not a good person and she was trying to protect you, if he was he would have been there all along regardless! i think you should sit down and tell her how you feel.

Did you want her to tell you when you were 3? 5? Is there some magical certain age that she was supposed to inform you of this? She told when she thought it was appropriate and she knows more about than you do. Why don't you quit being so selfish and be thankful for your mom and all she does for you.

Forgiving is a rare and beautiful talent

Ha! Sorry to hear that. When I was 16, my mom told me that the reason there's a 5.5 year difference between me (the youngest) and the next oldest was that my mom wanted to leave my dad, but was raped, so she had to wait until I was in school to leave him. I've always felt resented, but I didn't know why until then. It hurts, but really, the more you let go, the better off. I can kinda understand where your mom was coming from even though you feel betraid. It really makes things simple and you have to admit, if the man you thought was your father really was, you'd still feel the same way about him, so appreciate the fact that he wanted to be your dad enough to step in and be there for you...even when you didn't want him to.

This does not make you any less of a human being. You'll find a great woman and have kids that will love you. Think about spending your thoughts and energies in that direction. Make it a goal, you'll be a better person for it.

here's a thought, if your dad was such a great person why didn't he fight for custody or ever make himself a part of your life? maybe you mom was just protecting you from a loser that unfortunately contributed to your dna....if i were you i would want to find him and confront him!

^you have every right to feel hurt and abandoned by both your fathers, weather if was your real dad's lack of presence physically, or your stepdad's lack of presence emotionally. you are now old enough to create new relationships and define them any way you choose! that is powerful and i hope you pursue new relationships with maturity, you will get the most out of it! my father was married five times and gave two separate sets of children up for adoption (my older half siblings) and i have also tried having relationships with them. i can't promise you it will all be easy and work out perfectly. it can be hard to undo damaged family dynamics so be patient and stay positive! you know the truth and that is power :)

Quit whining and move on. You think you're the only one without a dad or with a different dad than your siblings? If this is the worse problem you have, count your blessings and stop being selfish!
