Ya know, you hit the nail right on the head. But the fact is, the world and humanity would be a much worse position without religion. Religion in it's own right has caused so many wars and has killed so many people, but consider how many would have died with the likes of the Gingus Kahn, the Vikings and the Hitlers to name a few. We would not have democracy and we would not have advanced as far as we have as a civilized society. Religion is what it is because of the Human Mind and the need to believe in something greater, a bigger power, something to provice relief to our mind ever inquisitivness and intelligence, to know that we came from somewhere, to know that the Universe is not infinite....Religion fills that void, as fallable as Religion is to answering those thoughts, it darns the edges of the fabrics of unknown life together as we know it. The fear of GOD, the wrath of HELL!! We just do not have the answers we need yet to explain beyond the scope of the bible.
