i know how you feel.i had an illness turn chronic at 30 because they kept misdiagnosing me.a 6th doctor finally found the cause and fixed it.

Good for you. It took 3 doctors over the course of more than 20 years to finally figure out why my tiredness, slow responces, slow speach, weight gain and swelling every year in my legs was all about. It was the Thyroid. Hypo active. They figured it out when my legs swelled up and wouldn't go back down like they had done all the years in the past. Then the doc said it was because my body was shutting down...after 3 weeks on thyroid meds, my mother didn't even recognize my voice on the phone. I had to convienience her it was me. After 5 weeks, I had gone from 218 lbs to 185 lbs. People at work were unbelieving. Funny to think I didn't recognize any symptoms personally except the swelling in my legs...

Doctors make mistakes and sometimes their arrogance doesn't help. The Chief of Pediatrics at the largest local hospital here almost killed my daughter when she was 5 weeks old because he thought he knew everything. The answer was right in front of him but his ego got in the way and he refused to acknowledge it. We found another doctor who immediately recognized the problem, took her to surgery that day and saved her life. He said basically "reading between the lines" that the other doc was a clown. If we had listened to him she would not have survived.

Yea...I can sympothize....got wrongly diagnosed with crohns' disease and took out 9 feet of intestines, only to find out later it was food alergies that where killing me! 18 years and almost a half-million in tax payer money to f*** me up for life. BUT I'M STILL HERE, FUCKERS!!!
