Anonomyously turn him in to the cops, send him to jail and have the judge force him into rehab....heck, let the state pay for it also...

If he is an addict, you are enabling him and that is not real love. If you really did love him, you would end the relationship so he can hit bottom and have a chance to heal but I think it would be more honest of you to admit that you are codependant on him. There is a part of you that needs his addiction and drama.

Don't stay with him for him. If you stay, stay for you. It is enabling as stated above, but it also just ways down your quality of life. Why drag the both of you down. Besides, if he has only mentioned that he would kill himself if you left, then he won't really.

i feel for you, b/c i am right there with you. Like we haven't thought of just leaving before! so much easier said than done. i had to tell my husband, whom i love dearly, that he had to leave until he got help. i didn't want a divorce, but i couldn't be around his drugs anymore either, so i left it up to him. go get help and come back clean, or choose the drugs and set me free. He said he is going to get help......we will see.

I have been there and you are never going to be enough. I would have done ANYTHING for him. I wasn't enough, our family, our children nothing was enough to make him stop....It will mess you up, the feeling helpless, but get OUT.
