People can change but they have to want to. You can't change them. And first they have to admit to needing to change.

Sure, it's possible. I definitely have changed for the better. I was a pretty bad alcoholic for 5 years and did all sorts of idiotic things that now make me cringe. Even before that, I had a lot of bad personality traits that I didn't really realize I had. Long story short, I wanted to change and I did. The key here is "I wanted to" (and I still do...growth is a never ending process) Does she WANT to?

LOL The two of us above must have been writing at the exact same time and pretty much said the same thing. Truth?

she says she wants to change, and she says I make her want to change. Sometimes it's hard for me to think I could do that to someone..but I'm eccepting it...I cant wait for the future...I'm in love....

I don't believe people really change.

If she really wanted to change it would not be for you, it would be for her. If she says that you are inspiring her change... That is not a good sign of a healthy person.

Sadly, that's too often a line used by someone trying to establish a co-dependency. "I nearly changed, but you didn't stop me from relapsing", or similar. Hope for a good outcome but expect the worst. Do what you can, but don't blame yourself if things go wrong.

Either you can love someone the way that they are or you can't. Feeling like you need or want to change someone means you need to move on. Find someone that you like just the way they are. Life will be better for everyone concerned.
