Even after the finish line is crossed, there are still several hurdles to jump. Maintaining a steady pace now will ensure that all future hurdles are leaped without unnecessary strain. There's no reward in crossing the finish line out of breath and drained of energy. So, if you have tired of watching the race, and don't care to wait around to see the results, then you can go on home without the trophy. But why leave now when the race is almost over? The finish line is in sight. A cheering section is needed now more than ever!

^^ All I am suggesting is to speed up the pace a bit;to get there. Thats what successful racers do. They save some and sprint to the finish line. There is gratifiction when you finish the race. In this case,perhaps open arms and KNOWING that the person waiting isn't a trophy but the nourishment you need to take the next step. Yes i agree, when you cross the finish line there is more to come. Evolution. Whos' leaving? If you think someone is leaving, you'd better damn well step up the pace!
