Live in a way that makes their lives last somehow. The drinking will just work for the depression for a short time before it makes all the good possibilities harder to reach than you ever imagined. Get help. It is out there for you. *hugs*

Are you familiar with the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterens of America (IAVA)? There is also a Women's Veteran's group. Women veterans have unique issues, and you should get in contact with others that can help you. I wish you all the best, and hope you can get in touch with these organizations.

thank you for your commitment to protect us and for your dedication to honorably serve the U.S.A.. I can't take the pain away but i hope these parting words of inspiration will help to put a smile on your face, try and see it this way. At least you have never known Dago.

I bet you're asking yourself two questions: "Was it worth it?" and "Do I feel like a hero?" It sucks doesn't it - knowing that you can't ever change what happened. I bet you thought you were going to die so what you did over there didn't matter, but you're still here. Do something useful with your life - don't let the dead be dead for nothing. Give their lives some purpose and meaning; you might just find yourself again.

Yes, no doubt you will. It's the other side of war, but it's a gift to you that not all can have. It makes you wiser, it makes you more confident and it makes you stronger. None of what you have experienced will make you weaker. Thank you for your sacrifice.

What you have given to your country is far greater than what those who have not given will ever comprehend. Thank you for your sacrifice. Stand tall and stand proud.

I have lived with that pain since Viet Nam and it will never really go away. You have to teach yourself to not think about it. Put it in the back of your mind and pre-occupy your mind with othe things. You have to talk about it to someone, even if just a friend. Talk it out talk about all you feel, talk about what you saw and how it affected you.
