When my parents and his parents started fighting over who was paying for the flowers - a total of $150.00, we told everyone we were putting it off for a year. Then we eloped on our original date, best thing we ever did.

I felt the same way == and my husband and I are going to be celebrating our 32nd anniversary this year. All that wedding stuff is bullshit. I think you are really smart and practical

Very sweet. If he doesn't see this, maybe he's not good enough for you.

As a wedding photographer I go to a hell of a lot of weddings... most brides are so caught up in the dress, the ring and ceremony... I actually had one bride tell me she wouldn't marry her furture hubby unless he promised to take her to Europe on the honeymoon. All I have to say is you a one in a zillion and I wish you a lifetime of happiness.

Beautiful post. To date I am still/never havebeen married but I have tried more than once, only to find that she did not care / or get itbut wouldn't just come out and admit it. I so wish I could find a lady like yourself that understands the only thing that REALLYdoes matter. I'll bet you are beautiful inevery sense of the word.

Haha, women are such manipulating reverse BS con-artist. Just go ahead and try to be GF and BF for longer then say 3 years, just try. Cute, but complete BS.

My husband and I got married in the minister's front yard, with 6 friends there. No fancy ring, no fancy dress, no fancy wedding (I didn't want any of those things).... We are still together after 15 years. It's not how much money you spend, or where you get married that count....it's WHO you are with.
Remove this stupid comment

Marriage is the main reason that people get divorced!Stay single and live together. Screw the establishment!Marriage is a state sanctioned business venture, or merger, as it were.

Make sure he doesn't have a criminal record that he is hiding from you before you tie the knot. Trust me. I've seen it happen first hand. Check the guy's past!
Remove this stupid comment

Are you desperate?
Remove this stupid comment

does he feel the same way, some guys say they want to get married but really don't, they just want sex on a regular basis, they will say anything for it!
Remove this stupid comment

Does he want to marry you?
Remove this stupid comment

Thats what it sounds like to me too, sorry!
Remove this stupid comment

Are you sure that he really wants to marry you?Did you ask him and he said yes but keeps putting you off because "We can't afford it". If that is the case he may want out but has a hard time telling you.
Remove this stupid comment

How sweet..that is how I feel about my boyfriend and me. We are not getting legally married, but are married in spirit already.
Remove this stupid comment

That's all I have wanted since the day I saw him. We belong together, mi amor, I hope, one day,you will not longer be afraid.

shodent life be this way
Remove this stupid comment

That was my wife's exact attitude. She had no white dress, a ceremony with a justice of the peace and our two best friends, and she wears a simple gold band. Eight years together so far, and we love each other more every day !
Remove this stupid comment

WTF does being married have to do with the level of commitment you have or the love you feel? People need to grow up and realize that tradition, religion, and government are all bullshit and any inclusion of those in your "love" is almost always bound to corrupt it, and keep it from being true and pure.
Remove this stupid comment

My husband and I did it that way. Been living our happily ever after for 26 years....and I'd do it all over again.
Remove this stupid comment

cute i have a ring but i still only want him the ring was a bonus!
Remove this stupid comment

Yes, commitment is so over rated. I never want to wear a ring and proclaim my love in public. Mr. other right, might come alomg, and then where would I be?

Remove this stupid comment

^3 Hope you are atleast savin up for a rock on your 10th anniversary! Its the least you could do for the 8 years she's given you
Remove this stupid comment

I did the same thing I did not want a big wedding or a fancy dress I just wanted my husband, he matters more to me then some stupid dress that you are only going to wear once. The point is weddings are overated I mean you spend all the money on that big wedding and you have a 50/50 chance of getting a divorce and then if you do get a divorce it was just a waste of money anyways so do it the simple way! Marriage is far more important than a wedding
