Are you on meds? Are you taking enough? If yes to both questions, then you can indeed control it. Having lived with a bipolar person, I can tell you this: if you don't control it, they'll leave you. I had to make my girlfriend move out because I couldn't handle it anymore. She was on meds, but it was so much easier for her to play the sick card when she got angry and use it as an excuse to lash out. Don't be self-indulgent- man up and learn to control yourself.

^^ So living with someone makes you an expert? Even medicated the symptoms do still come through no matter how hard you try to stop them. You learn to recognize and you learn to cope. There is no way you can know the personal hell that accompanies being Bipolar so unless you have a degree in psychology STFU!!!

I'm the same way. I'm medicated and sometimes just can't help it.

Take your meds. If they are not working or making it worse, try another one before you f*** your life up and alienate everyone. I know this from firsthand experience sadly enough.

I think my boyfriend might be bi polar......... he seems to have all the symptoms. Or he's just a gigantic asshole. Do they give meds for that?

I completely understand...it is like your looking at yourself from above and not able to stop yourself. You have made the first step in realizing that you are doing it...you need to talk to your psychologist and psychiatrist to help you to get a better balance and help to be able to realize what is coming before it is to late....it is the hardest damn thing and i f*** up everyday but you just have to keep trying

To the 2 above my comment. You have no f***ing clue. I am Bipolar, and I deal with life just fine. I raise my kids, I go to work, I am medicated and STILL some of the symptoms come through. It is called having an understanding partner instead of an immature jerk for a partner. Outside influences such as stress do make it worse. Bipolar is a biological disorder that assholes like you exacerbate.

I'm the second poster, addressing the third poster. Yes, I lived with a bipolar for two and a half years. Worse- I myself WAS bipolar for a long time, until my meds sorted it out. I learned to take control of my depressions and manias, and to not just let fly- which would have been far easier. I learned self control. It's part of maturity and learning to be a goddam adult. My girlfriend was perfectly capable of controlling it when she needed to- she held down her job just fine, but couldn't control herself at home when it was just us. She blamed it on bipolar, which was BULLSHIT. She could control it when she needed to- she just chose not to do so at home. If I can learn to control it, so can you. Stop using it as a cop-out excuse.

Maybe the sex just isn't that good between you two. Try to have more (and better) orgasms as what happens. Then let us know... =)
