Hell yes he did. I have a daughter and only got to meet her when she turned 18. We will never be as close as we should be. My ex wouldn't let me have any contact with her.

As a dad of two girls(adults now) I was involved and around for moast everything but was in military and sometimes had to be away from them for months, my heart still aches for those missed moments and missed school events, men may seem aloof and uncaring but behind closed doors his pain was intense, maybe for wanting to be there and not knowing how, or too guilty for missing too much that he could not find how to face you.
