if any pet of mine cant handle being handled by my kids, then the animal goes bye bye. what are you going to tell your child after the plastic surgeries that dont quite fix their face? "sorry, but i chose the dog over you" "you should've known better even though you were only 8 mo old"? please. putting them to sleep is a bit drastic. you could've just given the dog away to someone else.

To the above poster: That is why you TRAIN YOUR ANIMALS!!!! I have 4 dogs including a pit bull that plays with my 6 year old son. They are all trained to get along with kids and our cats. To the OP: Rot in hell you piece of shit!!!!

I have had many dogs and a hybred wolf, All the animals was trained by me and were good around children because I took the time to train them. I must admitt tho I had one that could not be propperly trained. He would not attack and was protective till you tried to handle him (he was a rescued dog that I was warned could never be trained nor trusted due to abuse)he was suprisingly protective and would never get closer than 3 feet to anyone.Unfortunatly he developed a neck infection and I had no choice but to put him down (I just could not let the dog suffer), as hard as it was for me to do that. Shame on you for not training your dog and just destroying it snapped! Suffering from illness is one thing but destroying for your lack of intelligence is another.

Every dog I've ever had died naturally, except for my 15 year old beagle. All she did was walk in circles at the end, and we had to put her down...I cried like a schoolgirl.

If the dog smelled that bad, he probably had some health issues. Instead of being a decent person and taking your dog to the vet, you had him killed. Owner surrenders get the least compassion, care at death and it may have been extremely painful. I hope you think about this poor defenseless creature when you are on your deathbed.
