In addition to traditional therapy, I strongly suggest you look for a grief support group, especially if there's something specifically for parents. I've talked to a few people who've lost children and they get the best, long-term help from others who know exactly what they're going through and will be there through all the birthdays, anniversaries and hard times.

This is the OP. I am currently in therapy, I'll take the advice and look for a grief support group too. And thanks for all your comments. The day I posted the original post it was her birthday. I spent it by myself.

I am the poster above the one here. You know, I feel similar to you about not being able to get close. I have been that way since my divorce. I do not know where I would be if i lose a child and then got divorced too. How did the the child die and how old was it?
