I work in the fincial advising industry... it is hell trying to get people to speak english and then to give their ssn's... I hate that I can't get a new job if I wanted to because I don't speak spanish, mandarin, or something other country's language... What happened to having respect for the country you are in and learning their customs and languages?

Instead of complaining that you can't get hired, why not improve your skill set and start learning another language? Complaining isn't going to change things, but if you make yourself more attractive to employers, you'll be better off. It's really not that difficult to learn some languages. Harder than complaining, I'll give you that, but not as effective...

we should all be Bilingual if we live in a country that has a majority of another ethnic then yeah in Europe most speak 2-3 languages id love to learn Spanish i know a fair bit of french as well but id like to be fluent in another most people don't realize English is very hard to learn/understand its a mishmash of many words and meanings

"They come to MY country and I should learn THEIR language so we can communicate? UH-UH, no sir, ain't happening Jack, not in this lifetime. How many different languages should I learn to keep immigrants happy? Every damn foreigner that came here from countries from every corner of the world learned how to speak English, so don't tell me it's too hard to learn. Why is it that only Mexicans can't learn it like everyone else? What does this say about them? The damn democrats have got everybody in this country so damn touchy-feely that we don't want to "offend" anybody. They got us thinking that asking them to learn our language is an "insult" to their "rich cultural heritage" and pride. What about OUR culture? I say screw 'em. Learn OUR language, respect OUR culture or go back to that hell-hole you're so proud of. This is a damn shame what this country is coming to. America could not survive the polarizing effects of bilingualism. Too many Americans have died fighting for our way of life and I hope we don't lose it through this limp-wristed, politically-correct, cowardly approach to "sensitivity" by trying to accomodate everybody who is too lazy or stupid to learn our language.
