Volunteering is an awesome idea. There are lots of folks who have less than you do. You will feel better in two ways... one, because you are not as unfortunate as they are... two, because you are doing something for someone else and not feeling sorry for yourself. :O)

In my twenties and thirties I had a lot of friends. As time passes, people get all wrapped up in their marriages, relationships, children, and careers. I only see my siblings and first cousins once a year when we all meet for Thanksgiving. I sometimes wonder how it got this way. I enjoy going to work just to see people and have people to talk to. I dread the day when I cannot work anymore.

I have one friend and he lives 2000 miles away. No one other than my family talks to me, and then it is usually about what I should be doing. WTF. I just want someone that I can vent to without hurting their feelings or getting judged......

I have lived in Nebraska for 22 yrs and don't have one friend in this whole state. I'm not a bad person and I have never done anything to anybody in the village where I live.Does being a friend here mean something different here.
