I've met so many women that have a man best friend. While its ok to have opposite sex friends you can't be that close without some sort of attaction. IMHO

Watch "When Harry Met Sally." -- Harry: "What I'm saying is - and this is not a come-on in any way, shape or form - is that men and women can't be friends because the sex part always gets in the way."..."Because no man can be friends with a woman that he finds attractive. He always wants to have sex with her." Honey, he wants you too.

I asked my BF for more than friends and it was rejected along with her becoming so very distant from me. While I do hate losing her as a close friend, I feel so much better inside. It was tearing me apart inside wondering/guessing/thinking if she was the perfect one to grow old with since every time we did things together it was perfect. I still wonder to this day what she was thinking. Why the rejection to my advances. Our mutual friends wonder the same thing. They always said we acted like an old married couple!

I am in the same boat. We eat lunch together every day. We talk on the phone every night. We work together! In the mornings, we take 5-10 minutes just to say hi and catch up... even though we were just on the phone 9 hours ago and all we did was sleep. I've slept at his house, in his bed, twice now. I love him more every day. Everyone at work thinks we are together. I wish it were true.

I went through a period where I thought I was in love with my best female friend (I am male) and I told her. We discussed it and never acted on it. This feeling passed after a year or so and we are still best friends, have been for 17 years. While I find her both physically and mentally attractive, I know that it would not work if we became a couple. I would not trade this friendship for sex with her. I love her with all I have and always will. Because we are best friends, I was able to be honest about my feelings and our friendship is stronger beacuse of this.

After 10 long and patient years, my best friend became my husband. Our first anniversary is next week. Don't force it. Things will fall into the place that they were meant to be. In the meantime, enjoy him for who he is each day.

Been there, done that...and I lost my friend. I somehow agree with Harry (When Harry met Sally). I hope you get what you want. ^_^
