^No. My parents divorced when I was 4. My Mom did not share her feelings about her "crush" with us. Once the man became her boyfriend, we told her what we thought about him. You do not introduce people into your childs life until you are in a commited relationship with that person. It saves the child alot of confusion when and if your friend does not become your partner.I know that a young child does not understand why a person leaves a relationship. A young child thinks if you tell someone sorry, that people don't leave. That is not how life works.I am married. My husband is not my childs father. I did not introduce my child to my husband as my boyfriend until we were talking about marriage. My husband and child get along great and spend alot of time together. This is because I did not introduce a bunch of men into my childs life who were not going to be permanent people in their life.I have been both the child and the mother. I know what I am talking about.
