Well, the OP could only be referring to Anansi or Ellegua/Legba/Lucero, who are essentially all the same being. Being devoted to a particular god (and you should know this about African gods, they are not thought of in the same way as "western" gods, they are more like embodiments of natural forces, but accessible to people, helpers of the Great Spirit, so to speak) simply means that this person has those characteristics, even if they are an atheist. I am an atheist devoted to Chango/Shango/Siete Rayos, the African god who is the king of all religions, ruler of manly passion and potency, god of fire, lightning, and thunder, wielder of the double-headed axe, and god of justice and war. Heh. Go figure.
