I'm the OP. I do take his SS but it's practically nothing because he's been disabled since he was 25 and didn't work enough to pay into it. He has the attitude that he deserves his toys because he's disabled and if I argue, he goes nuts on me. You can't win an argument with this man and he'll make your life torture if you try. If I leave him he'll never leave me alone and has told me he will kill me -- and I have no doubt he will. I made my bed and I have to lie in it, hopefully he'll die before me and I'll have some time to myself. To all of you who aren't married: be VERY careful who you chose!

He's drawing disability from Social Security, isn't he? In that case, there has to be an account with his name on it for auto deposit. Once it's in there, take it out and put it in your account. Then manage the money well and pay the bills.
