4^ Where did you miss that the majority of the pro-ana crowd are well under the age of 18? They are children, moroff. Even in their 20s, starvation mixed with the obvious character development delays, I wouldn't hesitate to call most of them children. Regardless, calling them names and generally reaffirming their alienation only serves to push them further into the pro-ana groups they've come to identify with. You're line of reasoning may seem logical to you, but logic is often quite harmful. It seems like you never actually dealt with your problem of feeling like shit. That's ok, you got time.

^i was also "sexually tortured" by conventional standards (does getting raped twice a week as a child for over two years count?) and i would NEVER use that as an excuse to starve myself almost if not completely to death. having anorexia and needing/wanting treatment is one thing, but these pro-ana girls glamorize this type of lifestyle like is a wonderful way to live. pro-ana girls have starvation contests and post pics of who has the most ribs showing and give tips on how to hide "ana" from their parents and doctors....and considering the average girl visiting these sites are 13 i find that really scary. when exactly did it become cool to have a mental illness/not enough body fat to have a period? for thousands of years bad things have been happening to the human race and no one ever starved themselves to death because of it! i call bullsHit on the poor dear me syndrome these girls are using as a marketing gimmick to lure other young woman into this sick twisted sub-culture, they are very purposeful in their endeavors and deserve to sleep in the bed they have made even if that means dying just for the sake of being skinny. but i will agree with you on one thing....amish honey butter is AWESOME!!!!!

^to clarify, i said i would never use it as an excuse to starve myself in order to get attention for my problems....read back and you will see that not once did i say that the trauma i experienced didnt have negative consequences. i spent many years of my life doing drugs in order to forget the torment, and you know what? not one time did i EVER glamorize my drug use with red charm bracelets and drugspiration pictures in order to justify my lifestyle. i may not have been responsible for what happened to me as a child, but i sure as hell was responsible for how i chose to deal with it. just because something bad happens that doesnt mean you get to use that as an excuse to be a whiny shIthead for the rest of your life.....
