Even in states where the age of consent is 18, in the real world a 17-year-old is not any sort of a "child" except in the eyes of the law. They have an adult's desires and drives, and sex with them is not the same atrocity as with, say, a nine-year-old. In many states and countries a 17-year-old is considered fully adult. So let's not get all hysterical over this 40-year-old's "crime." The girl was probably a VERY willing partner.

He did not say he "likes to watch" her get naked; he said he "had seen" her naked. Maybe he walked in on her in the bathroom accidentally, or she left her bedroom door open at the wrong time; we don't know. I'm sure you'd rather assume the worst, however. Good job, by the way, calling him a "pedophile" for doing something he already said (in a followup comment to his original confession) is legal in his state.
