I am a guy. He does know, but does not want the burden of being the one who breaks it off emotionally. Don't give him a choice. Tell him it is over and avoid him for your own emotional protection

You sound like your very young if you have to ask him if you should break up. If you have to ask, then there's your answer!

If he says "I don't know", then it's clear that the realtionship is not important to him - he won't fight to keep it. It will be painful to leave, but it will be much more painful if you stay!

he lives with my sister and brother-in-law so i always hear of his goings and comings. now my sister is saying that the girl that hes been tellin me for months was just a friend...that they're most likely dating. do i still try to fight for him and be patient for him to come around?

^If the "friend" girl does not have a bf, and if she's not playing his wingman at the clubs, then they are dating or FWBing. Sure, you can still end up with him, but you have to ask yourself: Do you want treasure, or do you want someone that wants you, that is filled up by your presence? Treasure is an object, material, pretty sure but ultimately not going to grow with you.

OP if your sister is saying he's likely dating someone else, why would you let yourself be a doormat? Dump his ass! Here's what's going on here. We (the human race) think we need someone so badly that we'll compromise anything to have him or her. Then they become less and less committed and the result is what we see everywhere today. EVERYONE start standing your ground and set those boundaries so people know we can no longer be played! Move on from him!!!

Leave him. Yes it hurts, hurts bad. Went through the same thing months ago. I thought I would never get over the pain in my heart. Every day it hurt less and less. Stay busy, be with friends, family. Hell. I even went to the movies alone just to make myself get out of the house. You deserve and can do better. There is someone out there waiting for you that will love and treat you the way you deserve. You won't find this person until you are free of your feelings for this person. I know you don't want to hear it, but time DOES heal. Now I look back and wonder what the heck I ever saw in my ex b/f.

You dumb ass. He does know, he just doesn't have the balls to tell you. Dump his ass and move on before he brings your best friend home with him to find.

^ that happened to me, but they hadn't gotten to the sex yet! Yeah I was definately a dumb ass..because I stayed with him. Big mistake, oh well. Look stop asking him. What kind of messages does that send. Sit down and have the talk. Tell him you do know, you want to stay with him. But he needs to be honest with you...even if that means he might hurt you by wanting to end it.

^ That is not going to work. That is why he keeps telling her he does not know. She needs to just tell him it is over and find someone else.

Well did you have the sit down then OP? I don't mean saying this when you are in an arguement, or in tears, But a rational, calm conversation where you say just what you did above? With the addition that you want the truth even if it's not what you want to hear.
