I am so sorry for the loss of your precious baby. My cats are like my children, grieve as much as you need to and don't let other people definitions of love bring you down.

I love my cat more than my husband.
I have an 18 yr old cat and know her days are numbered. I'm scared what of what my state
of mind will be when she dies....
I feel your heart.

I completely understand. I talk to my cats all the time and I love them more than most people I know. I would be lost without them.

I sometimes imagine what it would be like if my cat was killed. How would I react? ... I get about 2 minutes in my thought process, and the pain is so intense I cant bare think about it any longer. They're never "just a cat" they sometimes know you better than any person in the whole world.

My Ziggy is 18 years old. He's been with me his entire life. In my life people come and go, people who claimed they loved me and would always be there for me when I needed them..pffft liars all. But my Ziggy IS here for me and I for him. He is my bestest friend. Grieve as much and as long as you need to. And if someone tells you it was "just a cat" you just remember to yourself that you had unconditional love from a wonderful soul. Something someone who would say "just a cat" has probably never ever had. Bless you!

Oh I totally understand where you are coming from. I lost my rabbit about 2 years ago she meant the world to me and I still cry for her. She was a gentle soul and now I have a dog who is my world and they mean more to me than humans and are always there for you, they don't care what you look like and always have a kiss for you. Keep your chin up hon you will find another to love as much.

It's been over a year since we lost our kitteh Sergei and I still cry him for at least once a week. It's only "just a cat" if you've never had "just a cat".

My cat is my baby and I love her more than some of my family members. The thought of losing her terrifies me.
Those people saying he/she was "just a cat" must have a really underdeveloped sense of empathy. No sensible person would say something like that.
Animals are often nicer than people, and you can bond with them just as much. Who cares that they're not the same species as you? Please find a decent person to talk to about your pain. I wish you strength.

I will cremated. But I will not be a genie in a jar. My ashes are to be thrown to the wind off the highest point available. My enemies had better take warning every time the wind roars.
