Guess what! The phone works both ways so why don't you try to contact them? Maybe they don't want to talk with you because of something you said or did? Relationships need to be mutual and not one sided. If this person has a family (ie kids, spouse, extended family) then maybe you need to consider that their life can't be all about you?

I was asked to come see him and spend Christmas with his family. He went home to get his car and came back to "our" hotel room to pick me up. And told me he changed his mind. He said it wasn't rude because I would have spent Christmas alone anyways. Sure, but not in a strange city with no car and no flight home...

OP here...I was very much invited but couldnt get the time off of work...I understand that he is with family and is doing family things but everytime I call...it seems to be at the wrong time and he forgets to call me....I wasnt expecting him to devote his very much needed vacation to me but knowing that I had no choice but to stay here unless I wanted to lose my job, I would like it if he actually called me every now and then to see how things were...not very selfish at all I dont think....
