Because shopping rocks! When things aren't going good or I'm down, first thing I do is go shopping. Always cheers me up!

This post is from a woman that probably won't let her hubby have a divorce, because then she wouldn't be able to go shopping and buy "stupid crap".

Take one receipt and purchase back to the store today and take back the power. continue this and get a part time job that will keep you too busy to try to shop away your worries.

to the op: good for you. at least it brings you back to balance, while stimulating the economy. Remember to be reasonable, if you are spending the money of your partner :D

To the op: This is a well documented affliction. One solution I have seen several times over the years is to go to thrift shops. It gives you that mental rush of buying things, you won't break the bank and after you're done you could take most or all of your purchases to a shelter where donations will be very appreciated. A fairly cheap fix and a tax write-off at the same time. Good luck.
