| Because most mom-in-laws are around to still protect their kid and in order to do that they need to tell others how to run their lives. It's not like friends that come over to visit and have a coffee, see the kids and say, Take care, see you later"....with mom-in-laws there is always an agenda. Always..always an agenda. Guys know it and see it. Guys are threatened by it. If you, the wife cannot see thru at least some of the smoke screen, the subtle hints, the persuasion, the control, then the guy isn't going to trust you either. Do you ever wonder why the "Dad" comes over and always is happy to mellow out, have a beer, watch some TV, ask if something needs to be done, sit around and talk sports, politicts, etc. But not the mom....Mom's have always got to be right in there, right in the middle of things, because if they are not they have no control of anything. Most guys don't appreciate that.

| I think for Mothers, Mother-In-Laws, etc. it's called encroachment as far as the guy is concerned.
