Folks change, people change. If you both don't change in the same direction, then you change and grow apart. A lot of times, one has to lead, one has to follow.

Sorry to say this, but it sounds like you got played. I've been there and it stinks. I am sure he told you that you were "wonderful", everything he ever wanted, blah, blah, blah. You are special, and you do matter. One day you will find a man that will say these things and really mean them. Until then take care and good luck!

Nah, it's not you. He just said whatever he had to say to get you, and now that he thinks that he has you, he's not going to try anymore. You're now seeing his true colors, and the man that you fell in love with is gone. Actually, he never existed, it was all just an act. Just keep in mind, that he is the one who is defective, not you. My advice, is to leave him. It will hurt like hell at first, but, believe me, you will be much happier and much better off in the long run. Hugs to you.

^Yes, gravitating towards toxic personalities is a pattern that needs to be addressed if someone ever wants to persue a healthy relationship. However, that doesn't make the advice above any less true.

Yeah, men don't make any sense. Everyone that has said he loved me, well, they had enough love to spread around to one or two others. A couple even played robin hood, stealing from one to give to the other. I was on both ends depending on whose birthday it was. I also had one say he loved me right before he disappeared for good (into a coworkers pants). It is hard to keep an open mind when it happens every time.
