Marriage is nothing more than a legal contract. It is YOU TWO who choose to make the marriage work or not! My Parents were drunks and divorced, I choose NOT to be that way and its still working! Don't taint the love you have for each other over what YOUR parents were!

Don't do it. There really is no diffrence, you can live a "married life" without actually signing anything. Either way you will be dissapointed hurt and scarred,it's just life...Sorry your signifigant other is nothing special :(

Here's the deal: You obviously had no positive role models for keeping strong, long lasting relationships. You must ensure yourself that everything will be alright if you marry this person (provided you feel you want them to be a part of your life). Also, you are probably down on yourself-using yourself as a reason why it won't work. Keep in mind that YOU are in control of your actions, therefor, if you can function normally everyday (which in reality, you probably do if the person is still with you), then you can maintain with little effort. Also, good communication is key. You'd be suprised how easy marriage is. You are two seperate individuals, just sharing your individual lives together. I can be really cool.
