Not a good idea. Your daughter is not there for your comfort. If you keep doing this, that is the message she will get. I am sorry you feel alone but the choices you made brought you to this place and you need to learn to live with it while not damaging your daughter. Learn some relaxation techniques or take a hot bath to help you fall asleep alone.

^2 up... children love to be held and cuddled and they NEED it to be secure and confident individuals. Maybe YOU should rethink YOUR parenting techniques. I'm not the poster, just a girl that wishes she had someone to hug her growing up.

Not creepy, I have my dog sleep in the bed with me for the same reason. You will eventually learn to sleep alone again. Stop trying to fill that void. He's gone. You cannot fill it. Believe me... I have tried. Time is a great healer.

9^ Pedophile? Why do you (along with so many other people) think that if a man and his daughter are alone for any length of time, he's molesting her. Women molest their sons AND daughters too. It seems to stem from your own imagination or experience. You're sick.

OP. to above poster - Hope it isn't a crib. that would be a tight squeeze! But I know what you mean...and would have have done the same thing in my marriage, but I usually had the bed to myself. He was too busy screwin around!

7^.. yes of course children love to be cuddled and need it to be confident and secure individuals... but when THEY need it and request it and not the other way around. On their terms! A child is not responsible for making their parent feel more loved and less alone. Sorry you didn't have someone to hug you growing up, but you would not be any better off having a parent who depended on you to make them feel less alone. That is not a childs job.
