How can you be a good grandma if you don't even respect your daughters wishes? The MOST important relationship in your grandchilds life is it's mom (your daughter). You be a good grandparent by respecting your daughter and fostering the bond between the mom and child. Until you see that, you will never be a good grandma because your motives are purely selfish. And as long as you keep wishing you never had your daughter, you have no chance of being a good anything.

How old is the child? If he/she is under the age of 4, then they should not be away from their mother. Bonding is crucial at this time, and the mother is just being a good parent. Gone are the days when you could just cart off a child to grandma or day care. We now know that first-years bonding with the parent is essential.
