How sad for you. I only hope that one day, they will awaken, perhaps when you have a family of your own. It's a shame that more education is not more readily available to the general public, on the history of 'religion' and how we have all been sold a bill of goods , so to speak. I used to be a J.W also, this is something that all too often happens. It is so sad, I am lucky enough that my parents chose their children over a ridiculous mind washing and judgemental religion. I am so sorry for your loss.

I was disfellowshipped under questionable circumstances (I wasn't going to meetings but got disfellowshipped for moving on with my life. I refused to meet with the elders-POOF!- you're disfellowshipped)My dad was strong enough to ignore the "do not associate" order. I am very sad for you.

Jehovah's Witnesses have the lowest education level of any faith group. That allows the leaders to use fear and intimidation to control their members. Thank God you got out, and just do what you can to educate others, and hopefully some day your family will see the light. JW theology is self-negating, and hopefully they'll see that.

The exact thing happened to me. I have not talked to my mom in 7 years. I have learned to hate her for what she has done. Hating her is so much easier than wasting emotion trying to figure out how she could give me up over a religion. Good luck to you.

I respect witnesses bc my mom is one, but I don't believe in some of what they preach. That everyone who is not a witness will not inherit Gods' kingdom. Also you can get disfellowshipped because you are unrepentant. If you get pregant at 15 for being a whore and you cry and say Im sorry, they'll forgive you but if you do it and have no remorse, you're outta there. Weird.... some people get disfellowshipped and still go to the Hall but nobody talks to them, so it's like they're not banned, but they're a leper... so yeah, wow. hope one day they will change toward you.
