Our son needs a kidney transplant. He's 30. The doctors did a DNA test to see if we could donate one of our kidneys. He isn't our child. Hospital mixup.

Maybe there blood type was uncompaticable to there sons in a manner that shouldn't have existed, like there son had a rare blood type that wouldn't have been possible form the parents blood types.

They don't do a DNA test for a transplant, only blood work. Nice try....

Maybe one of them did know. :)

depending on why you need the transplant they do sometimes do dna tests. especially for certain types of cancers to see if the donors dna has the antibodies and all that good stuff

Not its true. This actually happens more often than youd think. My son has dark hair and eyes like his mother and is fair skinned like we both are. I have contacted my biological son and our two familys are going to have a get together. His parents love him as much as we love their son. The seemed to have done a good job raaising him as I hope we did their child. Too late now but we can still get together once in awhile. The parents are going to do blood tests which actually do include a DNA comparison. Maybe they will doonate a kidney. Theres also still a chance the doctors can repair my sons kidney and a transplant won't be necessary.

I, personally, had a kidney transplant in 07 and all they did was blood tests, lots of them. Then they did a psyhc on the donor(my brother) and then me. They ran some more tests about a week prior to the surgery. About the DNA, I don't know if it is true. I just know they didn't do it for me.

i had a kidney transplant in 04 and my mil is/was MY donor. YOU dont not have to be related at all. jusst be compatable. there is NO DNA testing.

Don't mind me. I'm just trying to get away from the stalker in the last secret. I'll just hang out here for a while. At least most of you can spell.

It isn't fake. I think it is not written correctly by the author. It sounds like the son knows he is adopted. But, as I think about it more, I agree with the comment 3 up. No Dna is required. You just need the blood tests to check for diseases and to see how many antigens there are between you. I got lucky because my brother and I were 5 out of 6, which is real close to perfect as you can get. I love him for that.
