When guys say "hot" or "sexy" that IS them saying pretty and beautiful. It's just that the first two descriptions have much more value in a guy's mind than the second two. But it would be nice if guys would think for half a second how to compliment a woman in her own language---it would get them SO much more good luvin'! But generally men insist on their own terms and miss out on the hotter sex they could be having if only they'd thought of what really makes a woman feel super hot and aroused.

I feel they both have a time and place. I loved when the love of my life called me "Sexy" when it was us. If I took extra get-ready time and dolled-up a bit for simpler things like making him supper... I was beautiful, or breathtaking, or stunning. Men have it in them, have faith and give him a reason to give higher-end compliments.

There is a well known guy who just wrote a book on whats behind what guys say. He is in his 30s. He says when guys say Your Hot or sexy he is thinking sexual, and wants sex from you.

I use all four of those adjectives. It's a mood thing. Sometimes I'm a bit coarse. Sometimes I get a little poetic about it. Maybe sometimes I embellish a little too much but it's fun telling a woman why you're so into her!

Take the f***ing compliment you over-analyzing f***nut. I wish my wife would lick the shaft THEN the head, otherwise it feels like she hates me. How can you take a positive and make a negative out of it? Be glad he's not calling you fat and worthless. Jesus Christ the women on this site are stupid. You're upset because of a simple matter of word choice. What if he called you enchanting? Or maybe said you had supple breasts? You should just write up a list of words he can and can't say. That's healthy for a relationship. Alternately, you could grow the f*** up and be glad he says anything nice to you at all. If you feel dirty, it's because YOU feel dirty. He's not making you feel anything.

God, men and women put up with a lot of abuse from the craptastic expectations of society...if they want a little tenderness or dirtiness every now and again, what's wrong with that? It should be a give and take, but the attitude of "To hell with you, be glad for what you get" is exactly what's wrong in the first place.

I agree. It can come off as obnoxious as the mustangs reving their engines at a stop light. It is all about the driver and what's in his pants and nothing about the car or the girl he thinks he is impressing.

It gets old when my bf talks about women who are "Stunning and Dead Drop Gorgeous" then he calls me Hot momma or Sexy. I want to be called Gorgeous, just once. I told him about this post. He told me he calls me Hot cause he is so attracted to me. I guess he means my body, since he always tells me my body is better than most 20 year olds. He says my face looks like Im in my 30s. Im 49.

You are destined to be one of these crazy, jaded women who ends up being alone. Hot and sexy=beautiful. If you prefer the word 'beautiful' to 'sexy', ten tell him and stop whining here. He can't read your mind, you self-absorbed twat.
