An obsessive girl I knew in high school still writes about me in post-grad work. She won't let me read any of it and I'm pretty sure that's because it's about us being in love, which we never were. Or at least I wasn't. So writing about a dead friend is a great thing. Very cathartic I'd say.

| This could be a great way to start creative writing. If you are only submitting real life stories from days gone by for academia, this seems like you are limiting your education and letting a ghost define who you are today.
I am sorry for the loss of your friend. You can remember her in so many different ways. Order her favorite pizza toppings or flavor of milk shake. Wear her favorite color. Give one of her favorite childhood books to children you know now. You don't have to include the weight of mourning by telling recipients about her, but you can spread her memory to others in a positive and personally gratifying way.
The post-grad writer seems like someone I would not have tried to keep up with after high school. You must enjoy this obsession or you would have moved on and wouldn't be aware of what is happening in this person's world today.

| So sorry for your loss. I lost my fiance 3 years ago to cnacer, and I know how hard it is. You are still in mourning, and that just takes time. The people around you, will feel like you are taking to much time to grieve, but don't listen to them. It will take as long as it takes, and nothing that you can do, will hurry it along. It is hard for the people around you to understand, but they really only have your best interests at heart.
You will never "get over" it, but it does get easier, and there are people who understand. Be kind to yourself, give yourself plenty time to grieve in whatever way you need to, and God bless you. My heart goes out to you.

| you are not crazy....time helps you cry less, yet you still hurt the same. It is honoring to remember her. Tell her mother...she would love to hear your memories too.
