I was always terrified of dying... As I grow older the fear is subsiding. I can understand now how really old people sometimes say they are ready to die. This life is not all that wonderful to begin with so why fear leaving it. Humanity is crude, mean, selfish and riddled with hate. Our society is neurotic as all hell and we are destroying the planet on which we live. There is so little to commend man that leaving this world should make us all happy. Prejudice, slavery, sadism, selfishness, hatred, violence, lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, pride: far outweigh the good in man in our world. So what's to be feared in leaving it.

I'm not afraid of dying. I'm more afraid of centipedes than I am if I were to die tonight. What the hell.... It's a freaking bug that I could squash in one smash and yet it's like an evil monster that's come to terrorize me. Heaven better not have bugs!
