I'm also afraid of thunderstorms. I was abused as a child, I'm almost 40 now, and it wasn't until recently that I realized that I hate the storms because they would mask the sound of him approaching my room. You can't hide from what you can't hear coming. Maybe you have something tramatic from your past that makes you fear the storms as well?

What are you afraid of? Thunder is only a sonic boom. If your struck by lightning, you won't feel a thing, your heart stops, and thats it. Quick and easy, no pain!

Post #3:
Did it ever occur to you that some people can't help their fears? What makes you think I'm not normal because I'm scared? Why is it that you feel you need to come be rude and nasty over something that embarrasses the hell out of me? Everyone is different. Embrace that instead of toss it of as immaturity.

My sister has the same fear. Over the years and with the help of tranquilizers, she manages much better. I still wish she'd get more comprehensive psychological help for all her other issues, however. The thunderstorm thing is just the tip of the iceberg. Maybe with you, too?

No. Other than that I'm fine, and usually just a cup of tea and my husband help me through.

My secretary was afraid of thunder storms. She died when she was 45 years old from cancer. May she rest in peace.
