is that why he contacted you after all these years? deeply saddening. being a friend is okay but be aware and be careful. I knew someone with AIDS. He was gay and the best friend of my housemate. He died within that year and had had it for about 8. You could tell. He was really skinny and had the dark scabs. its just scary.

WOW! HIV is a big deal! So all you dumb asses are saying if you got it, it would be ok? Yeah people may not die from it but I bet they sure as hell didn't want it! What is this world coming to, flirting with danger!

I didn't violate HIPAA; I work in the local hospital and process medical bills. He visited the ER and I got his papers: broken arm, HIV. I am being his friend now more than ever. I am sad that he has HIV, and wish he would tell me so I can tell him I'm there for him. I can't/won't tell him that I know.

Well being a friend is good, but don't forget he has HIV. Maybe he is ashamed...

My co-worker/bff thought he was HIV+. I was there for him- listened, cried, and went with him to be tested. We have joined a support group. Remain his friend- he needs your support/friendship more now then ever before.

#8: the human race, for the last, oh say 11000 years, has been successful simply because we're willing to take risks... to "flirt with danger" as you say. The world is not just now coming to this! But yeah, stay away from AIDS... it's the disease that turns fruits into vegetables!
