Honey, it's ok to keep this secret and you have every right to not let others know the truth, because it is no one's buisness. You gave him that lasting respect he still desearves, as all humans do. My husband's father died of AIDS and he never told me the truth till after we were married. He always said cancer too. You are a good person. And we see you still love him, it's ok. :)

Thank you for the kind words and understanding. He did have cancer, but he beat it. He just couldn't beat his addiction. This is the only place that I have ever told my secret, and I do not intend to ever tell it again.

Letting them die with dignity is the best thing. It is no one's business. Being addicted to pain pills is the hardest this in the world!! No matter how much you want to stop, you can't! My husband and I take Suboxone. It's the only way we could get clean. It's especially sad that your husband started taking them because he needed to and became addicted. I'm sorry for you and will say a prayer.

I hate pain pills, well only because I used to be addicted to them. About the only way to stop is to replace it with Marijuana. I ordered Tramadol off the internet, it's not an opiate, but it acts on the opiate receptors, and will stop the cravings, plus if you use Marijuana you can still get a good safe high.
