For you to know and use the word " abhor" , you must be at least, in your teens. Your mom has a right to be happy and have someone in her life. Your not going to be there forever. My 12yr old stepdaughter seems to hate me although I have done nothing wrong to her. It hurts me deeply because I love her mom and her brothers and sisters. She is the only one that yells at me, disrespects me and says mean things to me.

To you guys stepping up for the "happiness of the mom". Ok if the kid isnt able to live on her own again and her mom has a boyfreind who treats her kid like shit then her moms being selfish and only thinking about her own happiness. Some people dont know how much hell a parents bf/gf can give a kid. My dads girlfreind has done so many things to torture me before. To the person who posted this. Even though I bet you love your mom, get out of that enviroment asap. If your mom doesnt care enough about your mental health then you deserve a better guardian.

I dated a woman with 4 kids. Two from one man and two from another. The two older kids were very unfriendly and mal-adjusted, very self centered (they also had another brother that committed suicide years before) The two younger ones (mid and late teens) were very well adjusted, friendly etc. It probably isn't you, it could just be them.
