Lol, its ok! But please don't take it out on them, its not their fault you feel this way. This is about you, not them. Get some help, go to someone and find out why you feel this way, you can learn to enjoy your kids. Good luck. Please don't take it out on them ok?

About 30 years, Dear Abby ran a column asking how many parents regretted having kids. Something like 90% responded in the affirmative. Having children is a completely thankless task. Some parents are lucky to have great kids that return their love, others are not. It's a crapshoot for the most part. I, too, regret ever having my kids. For the most part, they've done nothing but cause me pain. I wish I'd listened to Dear Abby.

My mom told me that since I was probably 10. I felt worthless because even my own mother didn't want me. Now that i'm older I can see how worthless she is. She only said that because she felt superior to me and putting down a little kid gave her power. Im almost 18 and I already have my bags packed.

"Children are the vessels of our heritage, immortality, and contribution to a better future for the human race" the future WILL be better if we teach them morels, principles AND the lords instructions for their life. Wake up and look around you! Society tells us to f*** each other as much as possible and be very self center.
However raising your kids in a good christian environment will bring forth love-piece-and most of all blessings! You wont die alone, you'll have someone to give your possession to instead of the state or government taking it. You are bless with grand kids, great grand kids, Your family name move on to the next generation. The more children we collectively have, the more you will see in heaven.

Walk away! They will be happier in foster homes than they are now. You can start a new life. Walk away. Feign a nervous breakdown.

I'm sorry for your children you feel that way, and you too a little I guess. My mom said that kind of stuff to me my whole life. I'm in my 30's with a little boy of my own. He fills my life with so much joy. I'm not saying it's easy and we bake cookies everyday like The Brady Bunch, but I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world. Everything I do is for or about my son. Maybe you need a break. If not, give them up. Unless you are a wonderful actress, they know you feel this way. It's not fair to them. All children deserve to feel loved, special, and wanted!! It took a long time to get over my mothers bs, but I chalk it up to her being to young and not knowing any better. I didn't make her mistakes. This really isn't about you. It's about your children!!! Do what's best for them!!!!

I have a 21yr old who is just a normal 21yr old, a little shallow, and does not appreciate some of the hell I went through to raise her as best I could. But as she gets older she learns the same thing I learned about my mom- we are just human and we did the best we could. She appreciates me more each year, and the new family I have does trap me, they should be my grandchildren. That said they are the greatest kids and I would have them again. Hard to think of being 50+ with teenagers and college and I will be 60 before I am "free" It terrifies me...

I know what you mean. I feel that way sometimes too. Do not ever tell them that. Yet we had them & it's now our job to see they become decent & good adults. If you're depressed, please get help. It's worth it.

i feel very Honored to be within the 10% who has amazing children, and im very glad i had them.I would have been a VERY selfish person without them in it. but, your RIGHT, they are NOT for everyone. It only takes pulling YOUR pants down to become a parent. THE rest is up to YOU!

while it is hard at times and no kid is perfect they are a reflection of us. there are times when i wish i had a carefree life with no kids but i really couldnt imagine my life without them. its ok to feel that way sometimes. just dont take anything out on them or speak badly to them. and never tell the children that you wish they were never born. once thats said to them they never forget it. i heard it everyday from my mother and i hate her more everytime i hear her voice.

Wow, I can't believe how negative people are talking about children. I have two children and although it's not always fun to be a parent I could not imagine not having them in my life. Shame on you people. No one said having kids was easy but damn to wish you'd never had them. Shame.

i think the people who are vilifying you either never had kids, can't have kids and want them or think they are perfect parents but secretly feel the same way. i hope you can find a way to enjoy life even with your kids in it.

^^^I think it is mostly the last one. People without kids are typically happy-pappy! Or don't care too much about what parentals are doing. Either or.
