HPV is treatable...the statistics for the number of women who have it are STAGGERING. There is no need to be celebate as long as you are honest with future partners, treat the symptoms and practice safe sex.

HPV is not treatable. Most strands go away by themselves, but not genital warts. Just be honest with anyone you date in the future. You'd be amazed how open and patient a person can be when they want to be with you. I have cancer because of hpv and my boyfriend has been supportive since we first started dating.

I also have the warts strain of HPV, contracted when I was raped.
It is treatable.
My partner since then has been open about it, we're honest. We're safe. We're not celebate.

There is no need for celibacy, however, you do need to tell people in advance.
I got hpv from my promiscuous ex-boyfriend and cried for nights, but it turned out alright. I met a new guy, and was torn because he seemed so great but I thought we could never be 'together'.
After a few months we had 'the talk' and he thought about it. After about a week he told me he wanted to be with me anyway, that he didn't want to let this slip because of a stupid virus that doesn't even do very much. We've been together for about 2 years now and very happy together.
Don't give up hope, hpv is not the end of the world!
PS: Oh, by hpv I mean the genital warts type, which, by the way, has nothing to do with cervical cancer. That's a different type of hpv, so you don't have to worry about giving your partner cancer.

I take take a ton of meds (Not for STD's) so sex is over for me, but I'm had as much of it as I could when I was able to do so! (And I might add, I'm grateful to be alive, working and productive!)
