I was that guy, when I was his age. I was a good christian kid, and didn't press the issue, and I started seeing a girl who had already had sex. After a couple weeks, she just came out and said "Okay, we need to have the sex talk. Are we going to do it?" It was probably less standoffish and more respectful, and I told her I wanted to take things slowly. Once we talked about it, she was fine (well, better lol) with the situation. Bring it up-but if he wants to go slow, don't pressure him. Communicate with him :)
